From Complex Drawings to Production-Ready Parts
See how Zhuocheng helps customers solve real manufacturing challenges, from precision Swiss turning and custom gears to complex CNC components.
Precision Gear for Agricultural Equipment
Complex gear geometry with two precisely positioned side holes. One hole had to be located between two teeth, while the other had to align with the center of a tooth. The original drawing did not correctly define the hole positions.
- IndustryAgricultural Equipment
- Material42CrMo5 Steel
- ProcessCNC Machining · 5-Axis Machining
- ResultOur engineers quickly identified and corrected the drawing issue before production. The samples were tested on the customer's tractor and confirmed to fit perfectly. The project then moved into batch production with ongoing repeat orders.
Custom CNC Water Hose Fittings
Four different hose connection components required complex threads, knurling, accurate assembly and a high-quality polished finish. Several drawing details also needed to be revised before production.
- IndustryFaucet & Plumbing Equipment
- MaterialStainless Steel
- ProcessCNC Machining · Knurling · Surface Finishing
- ResultOur engineers worked closely with the customer to revise the drawings and confirm changes through photos and production videos. After 50-piece samples were approved, the project moved to 2,500-piece and 5,000-piece production orders, followed by repeat orders.
Precision Brass Valve Spindle
The customer no longer had the original drawings. The only available reference was an old, corroded sample with worn threads and damaged steps, making the original dimensions difficult to determine.
- IndustryFaucet & Plumbing Equipment
- MaterialBrass
- ProcessCNC Turning · CNC Machining · Reverse Engineering
- ResultOur engineers measured the existing sample, reconstructed the part data and created new 2D/3D manufacturing files. The replacement samples were successfully tested by the customer, followed by a 1,000-piece repeat order.
Precision Gear Set for Automotive Tools
Five gears had to work precisely with each other and with bearings inside a windshield removal tool. The dimensional relationship between the components was extremely tight, making conventional gear machining unsuitable.
- IndustryAutomotive Tools
- Material6061-T6 Aluminum · POM
- ProcessCNC Turning · Gear Cutting
- ResultOur engineering team developed a two-stage manufacturing process: CNC turning was used first to achieve the required dimensional accuracy, followed by gear cutting with specially customized tooling. The samples were successfully delivered, and the project has moved into small-batch production.
Precision POM Knurled Component
The threaded section and top knurled section required high concentricity to ensure proper assembly and sealing. The internal blind holes and stepped features also had to accommodate springs and sealing components. Previous suppliers struggled with burrs and inconsistent knurling quality.
- IndustrySmart Sports & Swimming Equipment
- MaterialBlack POM
- ProcessSwiss CNC Turning · Threading · Knurling
- ResultZhuocheng achieved a clean, smooth knurled surface with minimal burrs and consistent appearance. The customer has continued working with us for several years with stable product quality and ongoing orders.

Frequently Asked Questions
Practical answers for buyers preparing drawings, RFQs and first-article programs.
What files do you accept for quotation?
We commonly review PDF drawings with clear revision control plus 3D models such as STEP/STP, IGES/IGS and DWG packages. ZIP archives are acceptable when a program includes multiple parts, nesting notes or supporting documents. If only a sample exists, say so on the RFQ. Reverse-engineering support is evaluated case by case. Incomplete revisions or missing critical views usually trigger clarification before a firm process route is proposed. Attach files when emailing li@zhuochenghardware.com after using the RFQ form.
Do you support prototypes and repeat production?
Yes. Many programs begin with samples or pilot lots so process, inspection and packaging can be aligned before volume builds. After approval, Zhuocheng supports repeat production for industrial and OEM supply. Share expected annual volume, release cadence and any first-article expectations in the RFQ so planning can match tooling and inspection effort. We do not publish fixed lead-time SLAs on this site; timing is confirmed during quotation against capacity and finish routes.
Which materials can you machine?
Metals such as stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, aluminum, brass and copper alloys are routinely reviewed, along with selected engineering plastics when geometry and stability allow. Final grade confirmation always happens against the drawing, application notes and any heat-treatment or finish requirements. If a material is restricted or dual-sourced, note that early so purchasing and inspection planning stay aligned. See Materials & Finishes for family-level guidance.
What information is required for an accurate quotation?
Provide drawings with revision, material and finish notes, quantity or annual volume, critical tolerances, inspection needs, packaging expectations and timing targets. Application context helps when features interact with mating parts. Missing data usually extends clarification cycles rather than producing a reliable number. Use the checklist on the Request a Quote page and the RFQ Guide if you are preparing a first submission. Commercial terms such as payment and Incoterms are confirmed during quotation, not published as site-wide defaults.
How do you control critical dimensions?
Critical dimensions are controlled through process planning, in-process checks and final inspection matched to the drawing. New programs may include first-article verification before repeat release. Inspection depth follows what the print and purchase agreement define, not a one-size shop default. Where CMM or specialized gauges are required, call that out early so planning includes the right method. Public pages do not list unpublished tolerance capability numbers; those remain confirm-with-engineering until approved. See Quality.
Can you work under an NDA?
Yes. Mark NDA required on the RFQ form and share your agreement requirements before exchanging sensitive drawings or customer-identifying files. We treat business contact details and technical files as project information used only to review manufacturability and communicate next steps. If your company needs a signed mutual NDA first, email li@zhuochenghardware.com and we will follow your process before file exchange. Case studies on this site are anonymized for that reason.
