In-House vs. Coordinated Finishes

Basic finishing is completed in-house. Specialty treatments are managed through qualified partners under our quality system.

In-House

Basic Finishing

  • Deburring — Manual, vibratory, thermal, CNC
  • Cleaning — Ultrasonic, solvent, drying
  • Basic Polishing — Surface preparation
  • Sandblasting — Surface texturing
  • Brushing — Directional finish
  • Inspection — Coating thickness & adhesion check
Coordinated

Specialty Treatments

  • Anodizing — Clear, black, color, hard (HV 400–600)
  • Plating — Zinc, nickel, chrome, gold, silver, tin
  • Powder Coating — 60–120μm, salt spray 300–1000h
  • QPQ / Melonite — HV 500–700, salt spray 200h+
  • Heat Treatment — Quenching, carburizing, nitriding
  • PVD / DLC — Specialty coatings
  • Passivation — Stainless steel corrosion enhancement
  • Electropolishing — Smooth, bright stainless surfaces

Performance Data

Corrosion Resistance & Hardness Reference

Key performance data for common surface treatments — actual results depend on material, thickness and specification.

Finish Thickness Surface Hardness Salt Spray Typical Material
Clear/Black/Color Anodizing 10–25μm — — Aluminum
Hard Anodizing 25–80μm HV 400–600 — Aluminum
Zinc Plating 5–25μm — 48–120h Carbon Steel
Nickel Plating 3–15μm — 72–200h Steel, Brass, Copper
Black Oxide — — 24–48h Carbon Steel
Passivation — — 48–96h Stainless Steel
QPQ / Melonite 10–20μm HV 500–700 200h+ Carbon/Alloy Steel
Powder Coating 60–120μm — 300–1000h Steel, Aluminum

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which surface finishes can you do in-house?

Deburring, cleaning, basic polishing, sandblasting, brushing and inspection are in-house. Anodizing, plating, coating, heat treatment and specialty finishes are managed through qualified treatment partners under our quality system.

What salt spray resistance can you achieve?

From 24 hours (black oxide) to 1000 hours (powder coating). QPQ/Melonite achieves 200+ hours with HV 500–700 surface hardness. Specific resistance depends on the finish, material and specification.

Can you provide hard anodizing for aluminum?

Yes. Hard anodizing achieves surface hardness HV 400–600 with thickness 25–80μm. Clear, black and color anodizing are also available.

Do you offer heat treatment?

Yes. Quenching, carburizing and nitriding are available through qualified heat treatment partners, coordinated under our quality system.

Can you provide coating thickness and salt spray test reports?

Yes. Coating thickness measurement and salt spray test reports can be provided per customer requirements.
